OOPs On The 4th Of July

Welp, I got to use my million dollar insurance policy last week. I back into someone's convertible sports car in our church parking lot. You would think I would be carrying the coverage for accidents like backing into someone's house causing it to fall into Lake Washington or something. But nooooo, I had to back into a sports car at church.

No damage to my truck (5/16 plate steel bumper). Not sure yet of the damages to the other vehicle. Her car road up my back bumper, pushing all halfway up the tail gate before I even felt from the driver's seat. I slammed on the brakes and the carefully pulled forward dropping the car.

I've been accident free since 1992. Oh well. At least no one was hurt.

No, the car was sloped down allowing the tail end to be level with my bumper. With the car's parking brake on...well you get the story. It was a Chrysler Sebring Convertable. Very nice car. The insurance people were really nice about it. But, I guess I'll see how nice they are when I see my next premium.

Your commercial policy might have a forgivness provision. I know mine does, I think we can have 1 accident per 3 years without having an issue...

Best wishes as this works thru. Oh, & hope you kept your cool in the church parking lot!

Funny you should say that. My trailer popped off the ball on the forth and slammed into the back of my truck, not cool.

Yeah, I was using my truck to pull a dunk tank and move picknic tables. I thought, if I were to have an accident, it you be as a result of loosing one of them. Nope.

Good luck with the insurance adjuster. They can be shady.
