New Tires
Hi Guys. I own a 2000 G2500 8600 GVW van which I had been running LT245-75-16 load range E. The truck rides rough and wears the rear tires down the center. Tire shop said to run less pressure and should only need load range C. I agreed and purchased a pair for the rear. Driving the first few miles truck seems to be swaying and rocking. I checked the pressure and the tires are only rated for 2205# at 50 lbs. which is the pressure the shop put in them. I pulled invoice from last trip to landfill and I weighed 7200 empty. Maybe I am just imagining the handling problems but I am concerned that the tires are almost maxed out now without a payload. Not to mention I also tow a boat with this truck which you could not even tell was there with the old tires. I know what my advice would be to myself just looking for other opinions because I always tend to go to heavy duty but it would appear this time I should have stayed heavy duty.
Thanks Bill |
