JEEP Rock Climbers - New Caney, TX

Buddy builds and drives these all over the country.

He has an air compressor built into the back.

Re: JEEP Rock Climbers - New Caney, TX

Im in the slow process of building one.

I have the axles out of two 1 ton trucks, it will get a stroked 383 running off propane, and 42" tires...

Not gonna be any time soon tho, time and money...

Re: JEEP Rock Climbers - New Caney, TX

I have given up on my old Ford F-150. Frame is shot after over 10 yrs of wheeling it. I have replaced the cab and box 3 times, countless engines, D-44 front is built to the hilt with nothing but the best and now the 9"rear axle wont stay together. I bought a 94 S-10 truck with a Vortec 4.3 and i am stuffing 2 steer 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axles under it with 44" tires. I plan on going with 49" Irocks down the road.

started a rock crawling/trail machine in jan of 2000. Meet my current wife one year later. Dated her and slowly worked on 4x4 for next 4 years. Got married in oct 05. 4x4 never finnished, no room at my new house,no shop, short on toy funds Its been sitting at dads for 3 years now. Fixing to part it out. Money to help build shop
Wish i had some digital pics but this is what it is. 71 vw bug body, custom built frame and floor. 1/2 ton axles (probably would have change to bigger latter) with 4 links front and rear. 409 cu.in small block built for high tourqe. 4 speed granny trans, 35 in boggers. Single half leaf spring in middle of back and coils up front. 102 in w.b. It has over 48in. of wheel travel on one wheel with other 3 still on ground. Have $7500 in cash invested with who knows how many hours buy my self. Will sell all for what i have in moter. $4500

The pic of my Ford was here in upstate NY and the others were taken this October in Rouches Creek, Penn. We have started traveling for better wheeling and RC is the closest with good terrain. Perigon was very good but closed now. Down there it has alot of traction, here in upstate NY we have alot of rock but it is smooth rock with mud and moss. I didnt bother taking the Ford to RC this year, i took it last year and broke it badly withen 3hrs so i didnt want to waste a trip this year.

Re: JEEP Rock Climbers - New Caney, TX

This is my Wifes 1984 CJ7. We swapped a 1998 fuel injected motor into it along with a 5 speed transmission from a dodge cummins truck This picture is on the aftershock trail in Johnson Valley.

This is my 1993 ford ranger. I have swapped the axles, installed duel transfercases, a winch and a roll cage. Pictures are from truckhaven near the salton sea.
