Headache Rack
I recently bought a 2002 GMC 2500HD, and Im looking to put a toolbox and a headache rack in it. I know what Im looking for, but cant seem to find one thats right.
The one I want looks like this: ![]() I like the metal mesh on the inside instead of the louvre things. But what Im looking for is one that has a spot to add those 4" orange strobes on each side for plowing, and then I will be mouting round reverse lights to it. What do you guys run for headache racks and where should I be looking to find the right one. Im not looking to spend a fortune, but Ill drop the coin on something that meets my needs and will hold up. |

Re: Headache Rack
The pic you posted is a Pro-Tech rack, very popular up here in the NW and in other areas. Same company that builds the aluminum headache racks and boxes for the big trucks with a plant in Vancouver, WA and La Vergne, TN.
From their website: Cab Rack Features: Unlimited options for serious work applications. Unlimited Options for Work Applications. Choose lumber stops, load light brackets, beacon light plates, overload sign assembly and more! Customize your cabguard for optimum performance and top-notch looks! There is almost nothing they won't build for you if you give them the specs. We ordered our cross body toolboxes for our pickups extra extra deep and got them in less than a week. Pics of other Pro-Tech racks here http://www.protech.net/gallery.php?gallery=10 Go to your local Pro-Tech dealer and they will either have one in stock or can order one for you with what you need. The dealers around here can get one in a few days if not in stock since the factory here is close. Also for those that live around here, you can also go to the factory in Vancouver and look at some blemished stock that is on sale a lot cheaper. Otherwise they do not sell direct, you have to buy from one of their dealers. Found a web page that show some of their options for the racks. http://www.woodslogging.com/truck_LT_accessories.htm Last edited by Kgmz; 11-04-2007 at 07:17 PM. |

Re: Headache Rack
Thank you very much. I looked up my closest dealer and it turns out the place I bought my trailer from (13 miles away) is a dealer, and one of my fathers friends just retired from the postal service and started working there recently, so maybe I will be able to work out a deal...
