This Had To SUCK!
Sorry for the bad pic but I took it at 40 mph while driving past...yup, that's a Cowden Ready Mix truck upside down in the ditch today. The track-hoe was trying to get it flipped back over.

Re: This Had To SUCK!
I hate to muck up this thread without any pix, but about 2 months ago I was headed southbound on rt 100 in barto, Pa, traveling along in a string of traffic, but moving along at about 45-50mph, when I saw with my own eyes about 1/4 mile ahead of me (quite a few cars ahead) a pickup truck go off the side of the road, take out the front porch (columns, roof and all) and go through the wall of the next house. couldnt' believe my eyes

Re: This Had To SUCK!
Back in '83, I had a car full of drunks drive into the side of my tank as I was crossing a hardball (paved road) from Ft. Lewis, Washington at 0:330 in the morning. Hardly felt a thing until pieces of glass hit me...

Re: This Had To SUCK!
Another fuddy-duddy with no pics but a sweet story about a ride I took once. See the image above for a semi visual...
Was filling in for a buddy, driving his mack dump truck. Hauling rip rap to a ditch. Had to back into the ditch, straddling the road @ 180 degrees. Traffic stopped both directions. Well, this one dump was sorta thrilling. The super jumped on the running board as I backed in (here it comes). As I pull the PTO to raise the bed, I failed to pull the gate pin knob! YUP, That sumbitch sat straight up on me. Luckily about mid ride up, I realized the err of my ways and snatched the gate pin knob. Rocks were spilling over the top and through the gate when SLAM - the front falls to the ground. Didn't hurt anything on the truck, but my ego suffered a bit. The four wheelers waiting on my to dump got one helluva show... The super laughed his ass off, too! Here's your sign!

Re: This Had To SUCK!
I was in an open strip mall demolishing a large screen wall in 20' sections. I'd use a large fork lift with 2 cable chokers and cut 20' sections that would fit in the dumpster. We had a productive day and got more down than I figured we would. It was Friday of a long weekend and the dumpster had been emptied and brought back. I decided to free up some parking spaces and load some more sections in the dumpster around 2 pm. MISTAKE.... I ended up tipping the fork lift over by booming out too far with the mast up too far trying to pick up a load I could not reach. The dumpster driver put the box where I deeded to be to pick up the load. So I used a single choker to pick it in the middle and spin it.
I had to get an 8' ladder to even reach the rear axle to get a tow strap on it... Bad Friday.....
