Dodge Offerring Lifetime Powertrain Warranty
Recycled from another site:
Here is the Fox link. You can visit dodge site and see it to. Most likely you need your truck serviced in their time frames by a certified company. Meaning you can't change your oil yourself, or other fluids. you need a paper trail. But what do I know. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291088,00.html __________________ |

Re: Dodge Offerring Lifetime Powertrain Warranty
That would be nice, like really nice. I don't think they would do it though, and would they do it in Canada? I personally love Dodge trucks. They are very reliable vehicles, nice strong engines however they have problems with their A/C units (which can be fixed by changing a pipe in the compressor unit to a aftermarket copper one) and their transmissions (which go after 115,000 - 162,000 km). Honestly I don't think they would do it. From a marketing perspective its great for business. Lifetime powertrain warranty would result in attracting more people to but their vehicles because they know as long as they maintain their vehicle whenever the dealership says then their vehicle will be covered. But from the other perspective they would be loosing money, because of all the free repair they have to do.
The dealerships work like this. They buy the vehicle from the manufacture, and they sell them for a bit more then what they paid for them. They don't make much money off of vehicle sales. They make their money from vehicle repairs. When its under warranty they send the service charge to the manufacture and they get paid from them, when there is no warranty they get paid direct. However if the manufacture if offering a lifetime warranty then they will be loosing money to the dealership owner. |
