Cell Phones And Driving
For those that drive in PA, you'll want to be aware that starting November 10th, it's illegal to use your cell phone while driving unless you have a hand's free device.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
Gee, that looks comfy!
Hands free, schmands free. They are still driving impaired. Most every dangerous, bonehead move you see on the road--some one is happily gabbing away, and oblivious to the world around them

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
Probably, but it's not the same. It is proven fact, that talking on the phone, as opposed to talking to a real person in the vehicle with you, is equivalent to driving at or near the legal limit for DUI.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
Come on guys, yes I hate people that drive and talk on cell phones but I am one of them. When I am running between jobs, I am always on my cell phone, thats just business.
I need to look into a hands free kit for my truck.

I tell my truck who I want to call and it dials it for me, connects, and I can talk without distraction.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
My borg/blue-tooth does the same.
My only gripe is the blue-tooth comes with a 110v charger - NOT a cigarette lighter type charger ~ vice-versa with the phone

I think those earpieces make you look like Lt. Oohoora (SP?) from Star Trek.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
I have the newest generation of bluetooth and its great. The reason I have the newest one is that I break one every other month. This one cost 70.00.
It does look funny, but it looks a whole lot better than talking on the phone. |

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
Bluetooth headset. Get one. You can be within 20' of your phone and it still works. I use it on the jobsite all the time. Let's you keep working while you talk on the phone.

The people who make fun of a blue tooth have probably never used one. Once you use one your hooked.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
I tell ya, I'm real impressed that most of you get it when it comes to the dangers of yacking on the phone while driving. Oh sure, SOME people can do both, just like my driving is not impaired at 15%. Been drinking and driving since I was a kid, I know HOW to do it. Never had a problem. Those laws are for someone else.
no seriously, I can't tell you HOW many times I've almost been hit by distracted drivers - and admonishing children, eating, reading a newspaper, shaving, applying makeup, etc etc are all just as bad as cell use. Blue tooth ? you mean BLACKtooth. I know a number of people with them, and on my end they is TERRIBLE. I hear more static from those than what the silly police give me when there's an open beer in my car. And my bro in Houston always uses speakerphone - I love that echo and knowing that everyone in a three block radius can hear me.

Re: Cell Phones And Driving
What about the " five to eight, I won't be late" for work crowd... I saw a guy get killed by a lady who had to be to work in five minutes. He had two little ones in the back seat that were ok.... Screw work.
