'95 Corsica Computer Change ?

I have a 2.2 4cyl. Corsica that apparently needs another cp because the mechanic diagnosed it as a very possible problem.... no lights or codes showing... intermittent power problem at times.. runs rich and clears up after a while "sometimes' Main question is : does this computer need to be uploaded with the info from the exiting old one ? Or, given that it is a '95 can I just R&R and be done with it ? Thanks for your input Gents . JIM

In a 95 it isn't really a cp, it is a brain box, you can R&R it no problem. I had a 94 Gran Prix that ate brainboxes, to the point that I ran the harness up through the dash and had the brainbox sit on the dash to make replacement easier.

Intermittent fuel pressure problems, occasional spark control issues, backpressure reading failures, I think the problem is the brainbox itself does deal with changes that are caused by wear and buildup, and I had a source for the boxes new and cheap.

Genuine GM JUNK!

We had a Corsica too. It kept chewing up some little plastic gear inside the transmission that controlled the shifting. One car in my life I was glad to get rid of.
