01 Duramax...............

Looking at an 01 Chevy 2500HD with the Duramax with approx 93K on it. Any known issues and pros and cons with this particular year?

Re: 01 Duramax...............

Injectors go at 100k or so if it gets hard pulling. I have an '03 and GM issued a recall and replaced the injectors for free. Other then that, awesome truck. I just bought an '05 2500HD with 55k to pull our insulation rig. 18mpg so far, my '03 gets about 16 average. i am considering getting them both tuned.

The LB7 Motor (01-early 04) is known for injector problems. GM warrentys them for 200k miles though so its not a bad deal.

Pretty sure it's 200K miles and 7 years which ever happens first. The 01's are getting close to having no warranty left.

Re: 01 Duramax...............

I have an 05 and would probably sleep in it at night if I didn't have a wife and kids. I love the damn thing.

I only get 13 mpg on average though due to always pulling a trailer.
