Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

Real or a Joke?

Maybe I'm just not getting it?

Gift for the "tool junkie" that has everything. Do they have an 18v jobsite radio yet?

Re: Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

I'm sure it's real. Ryobi has has an 18V dustbuster type thing out for a few years. I wish Milwaukee made one. Oddly, Milwaukee does not, and Ryobi is even the parent company of Milwaukee. It would be really handy for an electrician, because I often do small tasks that just make a bit of dust or debris that needs cleaned up. Something like this would be just the ticket.

I kinda like it too. Much easier for small repairs than toting my shopvac up 2 flights of stairs!

I have a few of the little Stinger W/D vacs, cheap and small. I keep one in my truck at all times.

Ah! Now I get it. Good for Dewalt!

Now it makes sense why when they were designing the prototype they originally were going to name it the Dewalt Happy Ending Vac, I wondered what that meant, now I know!

Re: Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

I guess it is such a queer little device for me is because I already have the Ryobi Super Suck-A-Lop-O-Lis 2000 shop vac. It weighs about 3 pounds is something like 10 hp. Its so tiny and light and sucks so well I can't see the need for something like this which is too small and limited.

Re: Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

I have the Ryobi model. We roofers haven't used it yet, but it was cheaper to buy the big box o' tools and get the useless vacum than it was to buy the little boxes of useful tools seperately.

I too have a mini shop vac with 10 hp. It's not ryobi though. I didn't even know Ryobi made one. Anyways that thing sucked better than alrger shop vacs until I first changed the filter. It hasn't worked the same since

I'll gaurantee that you guys don't have a 10hp shop vac. Maybe a 10 amp, but not a 10hp. A 10 horsepower vac would draw over 60 amps at 120 volts.

Re: Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

I have an even dumber jobsite vaccuum than the DeWalt. It's a toolbox from Eureka that has a vac built into it. I got it as a gift for Xmas and kind of laughed it off.

You know what...if worked so well (it did!) that my helper, who got to keep it in his truck, somehow forgot to give it back to me when he left.

If I had DW tools, I'd buy that stupid thing.

I love my Fein Mini Turbo, but it takes a lot of room in the truck and takes a separate trip from the truck to bring it in.

Re: Ya Gots To Be Kidding Me!

Funny this post started, was just gonna post how pleased I was with my new shop vac I bought. Currently have a Craftsman 6hp with a HEPA filter-works great for cleaning up drywall/concrete dust without worrying about it getting blown out the exahust port-just clogs/fills up the filter quickly is all. That thing has excellent sucking power, only draw back it's VERY loud....I cant state VERY loud enough, it sounds like your at an airport behind a 747 on lift off everybody that's ever heard it says the same thing.

Point being, I wanted somthing smaller since most of my jobs produce little crap ppiles here and there so something smaller to take up less space and easier to carry was order of the day at Wally World. Took a chance and bought a msall 5 gallon 2hp Shop Vac unit. Cord is short, but this thing is'nt any louder than our home vacuum upright and boy can this thing suck!!! not bad for $30 and I think i'll be using it quite often with it's light weight, portability, and QUITENESS!!!

I have 2 of the Ryobi dustbusters and they're not worth a crap...tape a quarter to em and set it by the road so if somebody picks it up they have something. Minimal cleaning power and filter is kind of a beeotch to get out if you have big hands..tried it on some drywall dust after cutting in a recessed TP holder and it did'nt fair to well at cleaning up the mess.

Best upright I've ever owned was an Oreck. That thing was put through helll over the years sucking up drywall dust, going over wet joint compound, etc...it's cleaned like no other-sure it's spendy at $350, but it DOES WORK!!! Worst part it flew outta the back of my truck goign down the hwy and I did'nt know it until I got home Bought wife a $300 Hoover that was'nt the best at the time, but was up there...that thing doe'snt clean for anything!!

Kind of a limp wristed topic, but we all have to clean up after ourselves so if it works good, better let the others know.

I can't believe it. I read this post yesterday and I saw one on the job today. I think some people will buy anything with a Dawalt logo on it.

I just saw a Ridgid vac in a toolbox at the HD. Exactly like the eureka one you describe which i remember seeing at Lowes a long time ago..

Did you...somehow "forget" to give him his last check when he left?
