Would A Stapler Help!

Ive been plastering a lot of house extentions lately and find that the long term trend of masonry add ons is been replaced with timber frame. On the external ply/felt we add a high rib expanded metal and normally a 3 coat coat finish . Do any of you lads have a recommend for a stapler ( air or 110 ) that would fire 1 1/2" galvanised staples to replace the nailing of the high rib .Regards Paddyman

Re: Would A Stapler Help!

Yup I would say a wide crown stapler too, although I have never seen galvanized staples in my area so I'm not sure if they make them or not. Maybe someone else will know. I don't think I have ever seen an electric powered stapler as big as that.

I think you'll find most staples, wide and narrow crown alike are already galvanized.

update to post,I went to toolshop yesterday to service some stuff and buy more ,the assistant didnt recommend a stapler saying that allthough staples were mild galvanized they will eventually break down hence leaving no fixing on the wire to felted ply ,oh my elbows hurt at the tought of nailing miles of wire again next year .

Re: Would A Stapler Help!

What kind of nail are you using currently? can you get a nailgun that will fire them?
If not, a palm nailer might make the handnailing a lot easier.

Just a thought but would a roofing nail work? If so use a roofing gun.

Re: Would A Stapler Help!

The nail Im using are 1 1/2" galv with a wide head, small enough but its the quantity, app 100/125 per sheet and a 2 storey add on could be 40 sheets that has me seeking a faster/easier fixing method .I do appreciate all the replies and will go and look at some of your recommended guns /stapler.Just that I dont want to buy something (paslode first fix @ 750 euros ) and find its not right .Guess best thing to do is try and borrow or rent some of the mentioned and see what works ,sorry for all the Stupid Qs lads but Ive been Plastering man and boy and between the age and the aches I need to make things easier now ....Regards Paddyman Happy xmas and a great new year to all .

This post is all I came across after searching for info on the Paslode cordless stapler. (IM200-S16 and 900078NT, same gun as far as I know.) I'm considering buying it, and it looks like FENCETECHS would recommend it. Anybody else?
