Which Work Shorts or pants?
I know most of you guys wear dickies. I bought some dickies cargo shorts the other day and they were a little too tight in the groin area. They fit like dresss pants it was horrible. Do they run small or is that just how they are? I was hoping they would be just like a pair of regular shorts just a better material.

Carhartt.
They have different fits (casual, dungaree, full fit, slim fit, etc...).
Plus all types of material (cloth, canvas, duck, etc...).

goodwill or garage sales, I am not paying more than $3 for a pair of shorts I am going to destroy, I guess I am just cheap. Allthough I do wear $100 merrell shoes to work in, but no other shoe lasts as long as the merrells.

Colder months: Carhartts.
Summer: These (Extremely comfortable): http://shop.lee.com/storefront/leeje...917&cat=Shorts
FWIW: We all dress in navy blue: So the Carhartts are navy blue, the shorts are navy blue (Lee calls it "ink") and the work shirts are navy blue with company name. I have about 8 to 10 pairs of each for work.

I know what you mean about those Dickies shorts. I bought one pair and that was it. They are cut funny and uncomfortable. I even bought them a little big and that didn't even help. So, I started buy shorts from Walmart. I got a bunch that are cargo shorts. They were like $10-14 each.

Carhart Dungaree fit with the double knees... a little warm in the summer, but by far the most durable and comfortable that I have worn. I still wear a pair that are at least 5 years old, though they may be held together by all the construction adhesive I've wiped on them over the years!
