Where Are Your Tools Made?

I'm buying new tools, so I noticed a few things.

I bought a Bosch 10.2 pocket driver the other day. The display model was made in Switzerland, (home of Bosch). So that made my decision to buy one real easy. Then I noticed the one I bought is made in Malaysia. Maybe it's no big deal, but I would have preferred it to be made at the head office

My old Bosch Hammerdrill was made in Switzerland. But almost every new Bosch tool I look at now is made in Taiwan. Top of the line Mitre...Taiwan. Does anyone own a Swiss made Bosch Mitre anymore?

Now, onto Dewalt. Some are made in Mexico. Some in Taiwan. My old Dewalt was China. The higher end stuff seams to be Mexico.

Hitachi is China.

The real crap stuff, is made in PRC, which I think is Peoples Republic of China.

Is Milwauklee still made in America?

I think I would choose a Dewalt made in Mexico over Taiwan, only becuase it's closer to the head office for qualtiy control.

I wanted to buy a Bosch Mitre, but I don't know anymore.

Re: Where Are Your Tools Made?

Parts are made else where some times and assembled in America.

I am going to check out the display models for kicks next time in the yard, see if they all are American or European made. Wouldn't surprise me to find out they put the Swiss/American made ones out but the stock is made else where.

Just the way things are and are going to be. Like the Army having the new black berets made in China.

Remember when buying a Japanese car meant you were buying a piece of junk?
