Re: When It's Okay To Buy Used...
I'm not seeing how that would work- Usually, the other side means a change of 180 degrees, not 90. That means that you would need to cut the same angle on the opposite side to match. Sometimes, what you can do to get 60* is set the saw to 30*, make your cut, then set the saw to 90*, put the table on the just cut surface, and follow your cut line. However, that is pretty annoying to do. Being able to swing the table to 60* would be way easier.

To stay on topic- I buy used all the time... unless its something really cool and I just have to get it new. A good tool is a good tool.

Re: When It's Okay To Buy Used...
I just gunked the hell out of my brand new saw!
![]() But, it got the job done. I used it to cut holes in built up roofing (about a hundred years worth). For cleaning, I'm going to let the saw soak in kerosene (from the shoe down) to make cleaning it out easier. Any suggestions? The blade will be taken out and I'm going to commence to spooning out the tar. I'll spray WD40 up into the guard (being carefull not to get any "in" the saw motor) and work on it. The only problem I had was that the lever to raise the blad retractable blade guard is plastic. Why? How much can one in metal weigh? I might form one myself and replace it.

You might be able to get one of the metal ones for the skill saw. I think it would be the same and bolt right on. That is probably the number one thing I hate about the bosch saw, and I really can't understand why they would change that when the copied the skill saw.

Thanks Temp...I can't understand why they'd use plastic for such a vital hands-on part. I'll look into it.
