I carry one of those 6-in-1 screw drivers in the knee pocket of carpenter jeans and seems like I'm always pulling it out for all sorts of tasks

7" Knipex Pliers. Kind of a combination of crecent wrench and channel locks but better than either one!

When these first came out I saw a friend of mine sawing thru 4 x4's for a dock with ease, I could not believe my eyes- so I bought one & it has been my favorite go- to tool since !

Bosch digital Miterfinder, finish carpenter's best friend.

If that doesn't count as a hand tool, then I guess I'd have to say the Japanese pull saw. Just got around to buying one recently and I'm constantly finding uses for it.

Well, I don't know if I can keep it to one...sharks tooth trim bar(someone had one similar posted), Japanese flush cut saw, and a kreg pocket hole jig. Three...to hard to choose.

10-in-1 screwdriver and my pair of 30 year old Stanley pliers (the quality ones made in Japan, not the cheap chinese junk...) Oh, sorry that's two...

My set of four Diston, D 100 handsaws from my father. Made in England around 1940, steel is awesome. If you ever see these at yard sales, grab em!

It fits in my hand.

To clarify, my father worked his way through college as a painter, had a two-wheeled trailer attached to his ladder which he towed with his bicycle.

My latest favorite hand tool is a painter's 3-in-one. I can't live without it.

Good call, I have one of their thin-line models, awesome marking tool. It leaves a very small but visible line and doesn't get excess chalk everywhere like my old Stanley. Plus you barely even have to pull it back to snap a line, I love that thing.

In all Truth and Application........The single greatest invention of the last Century (applied usage. It was invented in the 1800's) is the Telephone. Nearly all data transfer and communications are based on and use the telephone system!

My favorite tool that I have been using since 1986 is this:

Although it used to look like this!!!!

Re: What Is Your Favorite Hand Tool Of All Time?

How did we ever get along without cell phones? I am not one for extended phone conversations but they are soooo valuable. I remember my first cell phone plan was for 20 minutes per month usage. Funny thing was, that was plenty.

Currently I use it about 400-500 minutes per month. How bout you guys?
