I use two tool bags, for rough in tools I use a Mac Tools model TBSH, with pockets and loops inside and out to keep small tools organized, for trim tools I use a Snap On TB20A which is mainly a plain bag, but has a zippered pocket on the bottom that holds a plastic organizer tray for keeping small stuff like compression rings and nuts, faucet nuts, etc. organized.

Same here....
I have plenty of 18" steel toolboxes...
Plenty of Klein bags
An assortment of pouches...
But the most versatile is the bucket

Cut 2 "V" notches 180° apart - you got a vise for cutting/holding pipe/rod
Save the lid - you got a seat/rain protection

For an "upgrade", put a smaller bucket in the larger bucket...one about this size:
(You guys do keep these style hand wipes about, right?)
Now you can put small tools that have a tendency to get lost on the bottom or longer tools that have a penchant for "getting in the way" organized.

For an additional upgrade...save those plastic anchor kits:

Convenient storage that closes and won't spill.

Using a bucket is for guys that don't feel the need to carry every tool to perform every task. You don't need ALL your tools on every task ~ just a select few. So select them from the boxes/bags, toss in a pouch if need be, and get to work
Humping one of these things around loaded to the max w/tools, x-cords, etc is pointless:

Once you need that many tools to perform a task, you're better off with a tool box w/wheels:

Use the right tools for the job and travel light (on "foot" at least ....the truck should have it ALL)

Amen brother, I can most often be found with a pair of kleins and a 10 in 1 in my back pocket and a fluke in my hand. Only have the pouch out when it's serious.

Well then you need a 30x spotting scope you can spot a hottie from way farther than just a pair of binos. I don't smoke so that frees up a pocket and a ****load of time.

I have a telescope...but I don't think it would fit in my pouch:

Travel light...travel fast.

The one I carry is like 14" long, have used it to spot fish in the water from the roof of more than one highrise. Fits perfect in a bucket.
