Actually in close quarters also they were shooting people in the next apartment on accident. I agree the .45 is superior round. But the 10 is lighter. The eagle is ridiculous IMO. Buddy has the .50 the most accurate way to use it is to throw it……

Re: What To Keep In Your Truck Toolbox

In the vehicle gotta go with the 1911. In the right hands is an accurate weapon with enough knockdown power. At home I have a M-4 w/ twin stacked 30 round mags chambered in 5.56mm. Same one I carried as a paratrooper. Lays next to my bed. Feel real sorry for the guy who breaks into my house. Back to the original post though, carry what you need from past experiences. If theres something you always need, bring it. If some things just seem to sit there lose it. I hate carrying around tools I don't need.

I can hit a three inch target at a hundred yards with my Desert Eagle .50, with my Barret .50 I can hit a six inch target at two thousand yards, while I can only do that at five hundred yards with my M-16. With my Thompson M1927 I can hit everything in a 180 degree sweep with a barrel clip in, and all hundred rounds will be gone in less than twenty seconds. I keep the Thompson next to my bed.

Expecting to be overrun sometime soon?

You guys kill me, I sleep with a 1911 with eight in the mag and one in the pipe and I feel plenty secure anything entering my domain with die on contact.

Unloaded, with a trigger lock (or bolt removed), locked in a gun case secured to the house with ammunition stored in a separate locked location?

I don't think so Tim.

It wouldn't be much good for protection in that state, what do you ask an intruder to give you a minute to get you keys, etc?????

That's the minimum legal requirement for keeping a firearm on your premises here, and I have no problem with that.

Doing that might require some sort of rezoning in order to accommodate the eagles nests.

If you have need for forty gun safes, I am really really jealous.

On my dream home, I intend to create a gun vault- a room with concrete walls, and a vault door right off the hallway, similar to those found on gun safes, but that can be opened from the inside as well as the outside. then set all the guns in display cases inside.

and if I win the lottery, there will be a 100 yard underground shooting range in there as well. Don't laugh, I know of a couple of houses around here that have bow and rifle ranges in the basement as long as 100 yards.

I am a licensed Class III FFL dealer, and I do a lot of restoration work on antique and exotic weapons, so there is always somewhere in the range of 250-350 guns in my house, I only own 175 myself, but that number varies on a daily basis.

Re: What To Keep In Your Truck Toolbox

as for the original topic, I carry tools that I use frequently at home, work, or camping in my truck cross box- mechanical tools (wrenches, sockets, plyers, screwdrivers), a couple of different hammers, ax, bow saw, high lift jack, come along, tow strap, tie downs, tarp, extra fluids, some assorted tools that aren't strictly construction, ect.
I carry my primarily construction tools (tool belt, saws, drills, hard hat, cords, hoses, grinders, ect.) in two job boxes. Most of the time I leave them at the job, but I bring them home over the weekends, or if I know that I will need something out of them that night. They are about 3X2X2 feet, so I can lift and load them myself.

so does that mean that the Thompson mentioned earlier is class III?

so you are a plumber, you run a chassis shop, and you are a class III dealer, how many companies do you run?

Yes, the Thompson is full auto.

Two, my chassis business, and my gun business, which is a very slow paced business by choice. I let my boss run his plumbing business, for now anyway.

Most of the gun work I do is restoration of museum pieces, they will send me a box of pieces, and I will research what it is, find as many drawings as I can, and piece it back together, making the parts that are missing. I recently did a WW I era Browning machine gun that took a year and a half to restore, and it still won't fire.
