Veritis Set-up Blocks From Lee Valley

Hey everyone,
I just finished reading the posts on Levels ( I own 4 Stabila - they are the best!!).
I would like to add that there is another product which is a perfect compliment to the accuracy of Stabila levels.

That is a set of "Set-Up Blocks" made by Veritis and sold by Lee Valley (thats in Canada eh!).

This set has acurately machined blocks (from aluminum) in 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4", plus a machined steel block which measures 1"x2"x3". With this set you can measure gaps from 1/16" to just under 4" in 1/16" increments.

When you are leveling, you often need to know what the gap is in order to be level. This often means trying to hold the level perfectly while using a tape measure to measure the gap. Not always the most reliable!!

With set up blocks you simply use whatever combination you need to center the bubble. Lets say is looks like about a 1/4" so you put the 1/4" block under, oopps, not quite, lets add a 1/16", oh no, not quite!!, take out the 1/16th and add the 1/8", and presto, you are perfectly level and know exactly what the gap is.

I use these every day!!
