Uh Oh, Half Broken Cordless Impact Driver

today at work i was laying a hickory floor, the plumber showed up to move something, said since it was only a five minute thing he couldnt be bothered to get his tools out, so i lent him my impact driver, i had it in one of the bedrooms on the floor i was working on when he put it back it was right at the edge of the stair well opening, i bumped it and down she went. when i checked it the motor housing was nearly snaped off completely from the rest of the handle, just being held together by hockey tape now..... not too too big a deal the batterys are going stale and i cant get 12v bosch batterys off the shelf. on the same note, my printer died 3 days ago and i need brake work done on the car..

anyone else do anything like this recently,

Last time I lent out a tool, one of the laborers borrowed a recip. saw. When it came back there was an inch of water in the bottom of the box, with about 25 bucks worth of blades with round teeth. I went off so bad that I didn't even find out the story as to what happened. Have not used the saw lately, I'm not sure it still works.

Re: Uh Oh, Half Broken Cordless Impact Driver

I was doing a compressor overhaul job a couple weeks ago on a Navy ship in drydock. Its quite a hike so the fire marshal and I locked my tools in the compresor room. Came back the next morning to 4" of water in the room which is on the 01 level(1 level above the main deck) on a ship that was out of the water anyway! Flooded my fluke and soaked my manual. Fluke was OK after drying out. The rest of the tools came out fine.
