Trailer Dog Alarm

In another post about trailers I was talking about a battery powered alarm for a trailer using a solar panel to trickle charge it. Got a brochure in the mail today about just such an alarm.

$700 sound like an awful lot of ching to me for such a simple device. Unless it has some way to communicate to (by phone or other wireless device) you that there has been a break in, a few switches a relay a 12 v car battery and the solar panel could be had for about $120 and put together and installed in a few hours.
