Trac Rac Mitrer Saw Stand

Just wondering what everyone thinks of the this stand, just picked one up and waiting for it to be delivered. I bought a Porta mate 7000, brought it home and then returned it cause It was too big and only had one one and it seamed big and bulkey. Then I bought the Trac Rac, have heard all good things up to know. I hope it works out.

Thanks

Re: Trac Rac Mitrer Saw Stand

Trac Rac is great for a little 10" saw for doing casing and base. I use mine a lot for quick jobs. It's is light, bombproof and very fast to deploy. You'll get a lot of use out of it.

For bigger jobs or materials, I use a Sawhelper with a 12" slider. The Sawhelper is the opposite of the Trac Rac. Heavy, still bombproof, and slow to deploy, but is has continuous material support for 16'!!!

My first born and I think about $550 or $700. They are expensive, but well worth the cost in the long run. They have just updated the design to improve the fit and finish.

Re: Trac Rac Mitrer Saw Stand

Hi guys. I had a trac rac on my 12" bosch miter saw. The saw was a little wobbly and the support arms began to break. As soon as i got a 12" slide the arms completely broke, and so did the bolts holding the saw to the stand. The trac rac is junk. Bosch doesn't even make the stand, another company does. Also there are no replacement parts. Porta mate all the way. Trac rac is garbage.

I think you had your Trac Rac set up wrong if the weight of your saw broke it. Everything is milled aluminum. I know sliders are heavy, but definitely not heavy enough to defeat aluminum.

I have beat the snot out of TracRac and I can't break it. The only thing I have to do is give the bolts a once over once every year to tighten them up.

I have one and I like it. You just have to make sure it is set up correctly.
