Tool Belt Recommendations Please Help !
hello all i have been visiting these boards for some time now and find it very informative. But I have a question for some of you more serious carpenters. I have a regular job on weekends Sat thru Mon. 3 twelves, so during the week I have been doing carpentry work on the side for extra cash, additions, decks, siding etc... heres my problem i have a set of Clc bags from Home depot that I think were around the $50 dollar range and I absolutely dislike them bags sliding around, belt always seems to start sagging etc... what are some of your recommendations I have been seriously looking at the Occidental bags the 5080,9550 or the 9515, have also been looking at the CLC Signature belts the all leather one looks real nice, and the black one with the leather corners looks good also ( also like the handles on there bags) On the Occidental bags I like the looks of the all leather belt and bags but the 9550 and 9515 has the real comfortable looking belt the wide black one which they say is there most comfortable belt. So if anyone could please help me I would GREATLY Appreciate your input. I am looking for looks in a bag and also comfort. man it has taken me 15 minutes to peck all these letters in my questions (Very slow Typer) Thanks !!!!

Check out Skillers. Tough, flexible and versatile. They are made out of some kind of fabric. The Occidental leather belts are very high quality and will last a long time but just too stiff for me.

If you really want THE toolbet.
Check out Diamond Back. www.toolbelts.com They are literally hand made and since they make them one at a time, you can have them customized EXACTLY how you want them set up. I think I was on the phone with the owner about five times during my belt's construction. When you have the dude who's actually sewing your belt calling you to ask for the dimension of YOUR catspaw or what kind of pencils, markers, scribes, etc you carry, you know you are getting exactly what you want how you want it. Yeah...they ain't cheap, but for something as personal as a toolbelt, I think it's not a bad investment.

Re: Tool Belt Recommendations Please Help !
ive had the component system bags by various makers, at first i thought they were a good idea because of all the extra pockets for storing more tools,i was wrong, found them too big and bulky making it hard to move around in tight places and up in trusses. and with all the extra weight they merely gave me back pain
now im wearing a traditional 5 pocket pouch with a couple of tool holsters which i attached, more comfortable easier to move in. when im trimming i wear one pouch with 6 pockets to hold nails, glue bottle, combo square, knife, chisel and a few differnt bits |

I've been round and round and to be honest my old leather CLC's are the favorites

Re: Tool Belt Recommendations Please Help !
I have a few old leather bags and a canvas belt, and usually only have one pocket and a Dewalt drill holster. If I was back framing for a living, Occidentals and nice suspenders would be it.
