Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
Congratulations on the trailer. It will see a lot of use BUT, it ain't big enough...never is. Mine is 6 x 10 and it's way too small. Getting ready to go with the 7 x 16. Trust me on this one.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
Guys, this support group isn't helping too much, all this trailer talk is not what I need right now. I've been lusting over 6'x12' enclosed trailers all week--and now Decks went and fell off the wagon and is bragging about it--I'm feeling week.
Good thing Memphis is a long way off!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...DME:B:DS:US:28 The 6'x12' is just what I'm looking for--unless Robie is giving away his 6x10 cheap. I just wish they were a little taller inside. I know bigger is better, but I also have to park it next to my house. |

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
At least you didn't do what I did. I waited for probably 5 years before I made the plunge. The other factor was that I wanted it built a specific way, no buying off the lot. I spent $8500.00 for it and wouldn't change a thing. I'll post pictures of it later today(after I wash it). I set up a mobile shop inside which is what I wanted.
Dave.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
OK here are the pictures. I decided not to wash it til later. I'm not quite done with the cabinets yet. I'm going to face frame them and install doors and a formica top, I've just been too lazy to do it.
Dave.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
Hi my name is Dave I went off on a little binge, but had to because all my stuff is junk.
I came here because I was forced to after buying , all this "stuff" 04 F650 chip dump, a 04 F550 diesel, 4x4, chip dump, and finally a 04 Morbark 15, diesel, with winch (15" chipper), 2 new Sthil 440s, 2 new Sthil 220Ts & finally 1 husky 350. Cost me about $80K but was worth it. Okay thats it. BTW I was made to look for some place that could help me and you guys were the closest people that understands my/our addictions. Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
Screw it, long as I'm here:
Did'nt want to say anything since it's redundant and I needed them, but I 1. hired a new guy to just do storm door installs-LOL-yeah that busy with them 2. Bought him a complete line of tools strictly for installing storm doors 3. Got another company celly to give him for emegencies total for #2 and #3 was just short of $700 yesterday.....but I did it right and exchanged all my old tools in my bag and my old stuff in his bag. |

Big Dave, you're sick! I've never had a shop that looked that good. I'm sure that the big cabinet shop is still sporting original sawdust from a decade ago.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
I've really been feeling the urge to buy some Bronco's. They are these really cool tri-pod adjustable stands for putting picks on and other things. I'm getting paid from a big job tomorrow too. I'm really trying to hold out, but oh the scaffolding possibilities.....
Real glad I found this post. I know some others with these same issues.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)Quote:
These things are invaluable if you do alot of work on single story ranch homes as far as siding. The pictures show them on roofs with staggered legs to offset pitch, but dont personally know if I'm that daring LOL!! Do yourself a favor and label each hole 1,2,3,4,etc...on each leg, it sure makes life easier when your working on level ground to get the stands level. They go upto 6' and if you consider an average 5'10" guy plus a 4-5" thick plank thickness you can reach 10-12' off the ground with these things. you WILL NOT regret them!!! Another great set-up we have and use ALOT, it looks like a doubled sided 3' step ladder but is approx 4' wide. When capping windows i like the fact the steps are extra wide so your feet dont crown around the rung on a standrad type ladder rung and they are very stable as well....not adjustiable like the bronco's but still a great tool/ladder |

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
In this the season of giving......I have been bad....... I have been selfish and bought tools for me...... In the last 2 weeks I have bought:
2 new Dewalt 15 gauge finish guns 2 Max coil siding guns Ridgid TP1300 Planer Dust collection system 2 65' poly air hoses I have also purchased tools for employees Christmas gifts, brothers Christmas gifts. I just can't help it.......Maybe I'll feel better after Christmas if I get the Occidental tool rig I asked santa for! I did manage to not buy tools for the wife, she got diamond earrings and a diamond ring.

Re: TBA Meeting (Tool Buyers Anonymous)
Hello my name is John and i've been clean for 9hrs. I'm really glad you have this thread available for me as maybe discussing my addiction will help me over come it or at least control it. I just yesterday bought a new:
2 pack 18v cordless Craftsman drills (Sears) 14 amp circular saw set of new screw drivers Bosch framing gun Bosch staple gun On the way home stopped by a pawn shop and picked up 2 used Dewalt drywall screw guns ( fresh out of the back) a real steal of 50.00 bucks each ( originally 69.99 each ) and a pair of stilts ( that one of my employees can use, does that count? ) I also went to the tool auction last night after dinner and picked up some odd and ends also gloves 5.00 (12 pack) thermal socks 5.00 (12 pack) it is starting to get cold here a dozen rolls of electrical tape 2.00 and a hand full of misc. hand tools more screw drivers and wood chisels..... If there are any of you out there that can sponsor me and help me I would greatly appreciate it. I am weak and having these urges again esp. since HD new flyer came out today in the sunday paper. Thanks |
