You would think that all these "ladder incidences" would have taught you to properly affix your ladder!!!!!!!!!!!!

i once used some 4" pvc drain cut into 2' lengths

filled them with insulation foam

and the next day used them as "wheels" to roll a 20' x 8" steel c channel

into position for a lift

i used four "wheels"

worked great

Haahaa, lots of sawsall stories. My neighbor grew a GIANT turnip last year and gave it to me for Thanksgiving. It was at least the size of a bowling ball. I tried using a big knife, but after about 30 seconds I got the sawsall out. 60 seconds in the driveway...done. Tasty too.

Re: Strangest Thing Done With A Tool/materials

I made a blind point for my log scribes from a 10" t40 lag screw

My dad had a job going where he needed a really long sawzall blade, like 2' long. I happened to be home visiting, and I welded a couple blades together with my mig welder for him. He said it worked great.

I duct taped a bumper back on a truck and drove 4 hours on the interstate to get home.

2. Shot a duck with a bb gun (we all kept our air rifles within arms reach at all times while working...I was up on a 2x6 scaffold siding a house on Lake Conroe. Pulled that weapon out of the window, turned and blam.) Rule was if you killed anything...YOU HAD TO EAT IT. So why does mallard duck taste like liver and not chicken? Cooked it using the above method and ate it in front of the crew as per the "rules". Sure was bad for that dude that shot the Egret. (PS This was waaaay back BEYOND THE STATUTE OF DUCK KILLIN' LIMITATIONS for any Texas game wardens reading this)

3. My sis asked me to cut a stick lookin thing in half for her 2 German Shepard dogs. I thought it was strange to keep a stick frozen for your dogs. After I cut it with my DeWalt DW708 12" SCMS, she informs me that its a bull d*ck...
between this and the job site jump start, you've got some of the best.

I once watched a guy heat up a slice of pizza in the microwave using a piece of PT as a plate. I really can't see any good coming out of that.

Re: Strangest Thing Done With A Tool/materials

We do powertool drag races when we get excessively bored. Create something to stabilize your power tool from tipping over and then create a 'track' to race on and the best design wins. It's quite a big deal nowadays. Coast to coast. Belt sanders seem to be the best choice.

Another thing to do in your own workshop is to take an expansion plug, mount it upsidedown in a table mounted router and affix a cd/dvd on it. Power up the router and at max rpm's slowly lower the bit/plug until the cd/dvd makes contact with the surface of the table. The cd/dvd will either:
A: Explode in a million pieces showering everyone with shapnel. = no fun.
B. Take off like a bat of of Hell and fly extremely fast until it connects with something. (A good rule of thumb is to shoot it toward an open field or woods as these things will embed in things).
C. Shoot off in the wrong direction. This is where you make sure you have a fence or something protecting you and the other drunk idiots with you. Not that I condone drinking and power tools but there is usually someone there drinking when I come up with these endevors.

Once upon a time I knew this pretty young lady. I was also friends with her brother. I stopped by to see him one day and the pretty young lady was slaving over a Victoria Strainer, making applesauce.

I went out to my truck and got my Hole Hawg. Hooked it up where the crank was and made short work of that applesauce.

Won her heart that day.

She still wins my heart.

one time i saw power tool racing on some goofy show on tv. Belt sanders are the most popular and some used drills but the fastest were circular saws fitted with roller scate wheels to keep the saw level. The blade was set to just touch the wood track. THen they,d just plug in the cord. Dam it looked fun.

My belt broke once where the clip is. Used a hex head self tapping screw to keep the belt attached.

I use my telescoping shrub pruning tool to pick wasps, and their nests, from the ceiling of my barn.

Yes, I agree the circular saws can be quick but since we do this with junk lumber as a track, the wood is usually warped at some point so your blade will either dig in deep which causes it to jump the track or if the track dips down, the blade hits nothing, causing the vehicle to slow. The sanders are steady. Oh, and we 'steal'....or acquire the skateboard wheels.

I use superglue for big cuts. I've also used WD-40 as a fish lure attractant. I've lighted wasp/hornet spray and used it as a flame thrower.

Played bladebe (our version of frisbe) w/ chop saw blades after burning it up on a pergo install once & dont kid yourself if the blades not coming at you spinning backwards you'll wish you didn't try to catch it.

You are on the money......You are a Military Man. You should know that Cyanoacrylate Joining Compounds were originally designed as a gun sight lens material and was then adapted as a Field Dressing.

I found an end that fit in my car jack and use it in my hole hog drill to lift my car, those little crank jacks take forever.
