Stolen Mitre Stand Toronto
Okay, I know this is a long shot, but I had a Ridgid MSUV stolen from my garage last weekend. These things way 90 lbs, so it's not going far, (I hope). It's brand new and still in the box. So if someone tries to sell you a brand new in the box MSUV, lemme know. It's been reported to the police.Oh yeah. box is ripped open on one corner.

I never got it out of the box. Is there a serial number on the box?
I have had so many tools stolen. That it just pisses me off even more when it happens again, because I blame myself for being careless. But jeez, they pried open the garage and took a 100 pound box. That thing is heavy. These guys that do it are crack/meth addicts with shopping carts.

I was working in Oak Harbor, Wa building this. A very hot female city police officer came by to warn us that there were some Canadian thieves in the area hitting job sites for tools, copper, etc. I didn't ask how she knew they were CDNs. I was too busy picking my jaw up off the ground...cops ain't supposed to look that good are they?
So exactly how did these thieves cross the border?
It would have been more of a mystery if she wasn't so cute.

Look at the corner of Young and Wellesley, some bums using it to hold up his sleeping bag.
Just kidding, sorry for the loss, I had a brand new cordless drill stolen from my truck down there, asshole broke the window to steal it.

I live in VA, USA so I am not going to be able to help, but I feel for you. I have had stuff stolen out my yard. So has a few other local contractors. Sad time of the day when a man gets his tools stolen. Hope they catch him/her.

It is more like the company he keeps than where he lives. Let too many people see your stuff and do-do occurs!

I am seriously considering it. Each time it happens, I keep thinking it will be the last. Everyone on the street gets hit at some point. It's a great neighbourhood, BUT it's mixed in with some public housing, (I am sure they are not all crooks), and some public health/methadone clinics (I am pretty sure they ARE all crooks).

I certainly don't keep that type of company, but you are absolutely right about letting people see your stuff. Leave your garage door open too long and for sure there is someone behind a bush taking inventory. It sounds crazy but it's true. There isn't a home under $500,000 around here. But there are a lot of street people. It's big open shopping mall for them. It's like trying to the catch rats.

Glad to hear that you do not hang out with or employ skells! Keep your "stuff" quiet. That is a good way to not invite rif-raff!

Use chains & pad locks on everything from now on, even in closed garage!.. Lock anything, any time, any place, any how.... Only five bucks on chain/lock to save five hundreds on tool replacements!?? Make a good habit.. lock lock lock!

Chris, I know your neighbourhood all too well. As you know I've done a lot of work around there.
There are homeless guys always scampering around the neighbourhood looking for metal/something to steal.
I had my Skilsaw wormdrive and Sawzall stolen from a job site over there last fall. They climbed in through the 2nd storey window. They left my cms. I almost always take everything at the end of the day but...you know.
Check the Pawn shops in/around there if you are ever passing by...that's the advice I was given.
TRUST ME...I know...It stings like a mother
I told one of my guys the next day and he said "Hate to say it but it was your own fault you weren't careful".
I wanted to spin kick him upside his head...but he was right.
Your stand just bought some nice crack son!
In a year you'll forget all about it...but I'll keep an eye/ear out for it...ya never know.

Just last week not far from Chris I was installing a hardwood floor. Had the table and chop saw set-up in fron of the house. Came out to make a cut just in time to see some A__hole !running down the street with the table saw over his shoulder. I gave chase for a while then realised my truck with the rest of my toold and the house were wide open. Figured with my luck he was the distraction and his buddys were getting the real score out of my truck.

Second that, mine's a female, but I sure wouldn't want to be in my house/garage/yard if you are not supposed to be there.
