Re: Stiletto Is Owned By The Chinese!!!
Festool, Bosch and few others have items made in the Czech Republic, like sand paper and other consumables.
Its not totally about where its made, its about who is in charge of the quality control and if the Parent company is truley interested in a quality product or a quantity product. Last edited by WarnerConstInc.; 03-25-2009 at 10:35 PM. |

Re: Stiletto Is Owned By The Chinese!!!
It does not depend on who owns the plant, but the specifications for the product that are ultimately determined by the local /country/market and the consumer. - Ever wonder why the real German cars, products, tools are so good? They are driven by the traditional German quest for quality. Even some German products are made especially to a lower standard for the American markets, that are price oriented. You never see a Mercedes taxi in the U.S., but they are common there because of the quality and annual inspection requirements.
China owns a major part of the U.S. and buys many very sophisticated American pieces of equipment, but makes different products based on the cost the ultimate market will pay. As an extreme example, they make most of the worlds great, high quality violins, but also make the most low cost instruments that are thousands of dollars cheaper.

Re: Stiletto Is Owned By The Chinese!!!
Last Christmas I noticed
the big red neon "Milwaukee" sign was gone when I drove through Milwaukee. While trying to find out when it disappeared, I ran across this... http://blogs.waukeshanow.com/shoreli...-in-china.aspx Didn't realize how long it's been going on. (Hmmm, good hook for a song.)
