Re: Stiletto Framing Hammer?

I have the Vaughn Titanium 16 0z with the axe handle, I have had it for four years now, no broken handles and the head is still tight as the day I bought it, I use it every day. No way whatsoever would I ever use an estwing hammer, in St.Louis almost every carpenter you talk to (residential) will tell you they are bad for your shoulder and elbow. As far as the stiletto goes I would never buy another unless they guaranteed the handle to last more than a week after you buy it. I'm happy with my vaughn and it has changeable heads for smooth or milled.

Re: Stiletto Framing Hammer?

When I was building highrises and forming for concrete i used a kobalt 28 oz. not the ones they have now but when they first came out. ive had quite a few hammers and id say out of all of them its my favorite. i dont break it out alot anymore after a day of swinging that thing it makes my arm swore the next day. i have a task force16 oz hammer that was left on my gangbox(told the guy to get his hammer for days and after a week straight of telling him i put it in my box and even told him then the job ended guy never said anything about his hammer so i ended up with it.) i use for all the interior work i do and the occasional roof job where we have to hand nail everything

I won't work without a Stiletto hammer. Wish they had them when I was younger & had to swing it all day. Everybody I have let use one of my Stiletto's has gone & bought one.

If you haven't used one, just wait till you try a 16oz Stiletto Musclehead.

Best of both worlds.

Same deal here. Anybody who's used mine has gone out and gotten one.

I picked one up for one of my guys for his birthday and he did the same thing I did with mine when he got it home...

...he slept with it!

Re: Stiletto Framing Hammer?

anyone used one of those dalluge titanium hammers? seem like good quality, and the handle looks beefier than my 14oz stiletto. seems to be longer as well, could be my imagination though.

saw one at the local home improvement center (Menards)

i have a feeling it'd be harder finding replacement handles, though the handles look like they're a bit more "standard" sized so the opposite could be true.

i think they were priced around 70 bucks, same basic features as the stiletto. possibly a bigger head on it and i like the shape of the claw a bit more too (stiletto's claw always seemed a bit thick to me)

it's going to be tough getting me to switch from my stiletto.
