Re: Shop Vac?

It was about $800 but it's made for concrete dust. This vac really sucks!!

Re: Shop Vac?

looks like "hilti" on the side of it.

I rented a WEP (?) a few years back when visiting my grandparents, to clean out their (big) attic...full of batsh!t

Worked really well and was very quiet. And yeah, I wore a respirator.

Re: Shop Vac?

I left my Fein vac at one job and needed a vac at another, so I bought a $79 Ridgid yesterday. Other than than the fact that it's OBNOXIOUSLY loud, it works well and is actually smaller than that Toolbox version. $20 cheaper too.

Re: Shop Vac?

I have a 10 year old craftsman.. loud as heck but pulls like a mule! At the time I bought a "shop vac" brand but carried it right back to the store due to it seeming very weak for the size of it.

I have a craftsmen blower/vac, works real good, use it primarily for cleaning up footing hole bottoms after augering, zero complaints, and the detachable motor/blower is pretty sweet too

Re: Shop Vac?

Nilfisk make a vac called a "Henry", and they are very good and real cheap, sub €200, but they last well and have excellent suction. We had one on a site to do general clean ups, no-one ever seemed to change the bag, everyone used it, and it still ran and ran.
That Hilti vac I have used, and didnt like, its pricey, clogs down rapidly with fine dust, and lets a lot of dust escape between out of the filters and what it fails to gobble down its tube, wouldnt recommend. Each time we turned it on, it sent up smoke signals of dust - the owners of the office we were knocking through were not happy bunnies - lots of dusty keyboards!
