Ridgid Propack Shopvac?

Hey guys anyone have one of those Ridgid propack vacs? How are they? I was eyeing them up the other day. Looks like they would pack a lot nicer than the old shopvac in the truck.

Re: Ridgid Propack Shopvac?

I really like it.
It can be stacked on top of stuff
and you can stack stiff on it.
It makes a good place to sit down
(no small consideration for me),
I've used it to stand on to lamp out
can lights, and it's relatively quiet.
It's cool having the hose and nozzle
with you but not in the way.

Downside, the hose is some weird
proprietary size so you can't use any
of your other hoses or accessories.
It's pretty messy to empty.
The wands and filters are kinda pricey,
and the major problem is it comes
from the Despot.
Fortunately my son gave it to me for Xmas
so I didn't actually have to go in there.

Thanks neo, I didn't realize the hose was a different size. Thats the reason I hate to buy any ridgid power tools, cause everybody knows their only available at the home depot! Hmm maybe I will search around a littl bit. I would really like to find a little vac that has a plug for a tool so it would come on automaticly.

Much as I hate the Despot, I really love
that little vac for small jobs, and tight
ones like bathrooms.
...And it sure is neat that it packs
away just like another tool box.
Fein, Festool, and Porter-Cable
all have the tool power hook up deal.
But I wouldn't call any of them compact.
