Re: Ridgid 10" Tablesaw

Mine just took a crap today. I was ripping a piece of luan. and the motor started smoking, then flames were shooting out of it. I went back to Home Depot and they told me that since it was after 30 days from the date of purchase I was on my own. I spoke to the manager and he wouldn't help me either. This is the last time I'm buying a Rigid piece of garbage. lol, only kidding. Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure you will love it for many years.

A friend has one and he loves it. I read in a magazine that if you buy any Rigid power tool at H.Depot you get a lifetime warranty.

You get a 3 year warranty... If you register the tool you get a lifetime service agreement. Personally I think 3 years is enough. They make new tools all the time. I prefer to use newer better tools when I can.

P construction. That is a bad ass saw.Have had one in my shop for 2 years. The fence glides like silk and it is accurate best saw I ever had!PS you should install a dust collector or make sure the saw bezzel stays clear of debris.

Re: Ridgid 10" Tablesaw

Is it the one with the recall because of the arbor shafts that break if you use a dado blade? http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09311.html That sure could ruin your day.

I bought one a couple of days ago. I checked the date code, and it wasn't in the recall. It was only certain dates codes that were affected.

Thumbs up

Re: Ridgid 10" Tablesaw

How can you go wrong with a "lifetime warranty" thats what sold me- I don't have the TS , I have a cabinet saw but the Rigid TS is sweet. I do have the 70lb sliding 12" miter saw- I have had that for over 5 years and use it a lot and has never let me down- I threw it in on one of their MS-UV stands- the whole set up is so easy - Congrats on the TS

That's the one I bought. VERY HEAVY. 452lbs! I had to disassemble it to get it to my shop, which is in a daylight basement. Overall I like it. Runs smooth. The trunnions are mounted to the cabinet like a cabinets saw. This makes it easy to adjust the blade to the miter slot. The motor is also enclosed within the cabinet, so nothing hanging off the back. It comes with a 4" dust port, so DC should be fair.

I'm not 100% sold on the granite, but time will tell. It's very nice now, but I haven't banged anythign against it yet. Plus, you can't use magnetic jigs.

The stock fence seems okay, but not great. I had a Vega on my older say, and put that on it instead.

Did I mention it is heavy? At $299, that's 66 cents/lb! I have no idea how they can make it and ship it here that cheap! Of course, they are probably losing money at that price. Markup on tools is usually less than 10%.

Because Ridgid is cheap junk.

I like this part:

"Hazard: The table saw’s arbor shaft can fail when used with a stacked blade set (commonly known as a “stacked dado set”), which is used to cut grooves. The stacked blade set can be ejected from the saw, posing a potential laceration hazard to consumers."
