Replacement Batteries For Durabuilt Cordless Drills
My dad has a Durabuilt cordless drill that he absolutely loves and the battery has died. I would like to throw it away and purchase for him something of higher quality, but he is from a generation that believes in fixing over discarding.
So, where can I find a replacement battery for a Durabuilt cordless drill circa 2004? |

who knows, but i am sure it will cost you more than a whole new drill will.

It doesn't look like they sell just the battery anywhere. You could probably buy just the cells and rebuild the battery yourself, but you need to find a place that sells the cells, or send the battery to a rebuilding place.
Probably just cheaper to buy a new tool set. |

Tell your dad you searched around for him and found that the whole drill replacement would be cheaper, then offer to get him a upgrade.

Re: Replacement Batteries For Durabuilt Cordless Drills
I too own a complete kit, not just the drill, two battery packs, light, saw, jigsaw, etc.
Guess I'm with your dad! trouble is they're making them more disposable now days and just doesn't pay to repair anymore. Anyhow, I saw a few clips on the tube about reviving them batteries. Yesterday I tried it on one set and to my surprise, now that one has juice again! I'm guessing "Durabuilt" is a store brandname, bought mine from Target. Bet under the skin it shares components with other well known brands in that price category, which one? |

Try a company like primecell or another tool battery rebuild company.

You could try Durabuilt customer support at 1-800-684-0328, but I have a feeling that they will be as useless as their tools. Unfortunately, those truly are sub standard disposable Chinese made junk sold through Target stores.

Re: Replacement Batteries For Durabuilt Cordless Drills
Not that hard to rebuild if you have a multimeter and a soldering iron. I just bought 10 sub C batteries on ebay for $20 shipped and rebuilt 2 Bosch 24V with them. I only replaced the dead cells and they work fine.
