Quik Drive Screw Guns
I am looking at getting a quik drive gun for doing mostly subfloor. I was wondering what others opinions are on these and which one is the best choice for subfloors. I looked at hilti's, have some hilti tools that are great but don't know if i can find the screw strips easily. I also am leaning towards the quik drive brand but there are so many choices. http://www.strongtie.com/products/qu...l?source=qdnav
I am looking at this one here http://www.strongtie.com/products/qu...ms/procgb.html Just wondering what others opinions are on these or if they have any other suggestions on screwing down backer board and other things. I have used my cordless drill for screwing backer but also have burnt up a drill or two! Thanks for any advice on this and merry christmas.

Re: Quik Drive Screw Guns
I have a duraspin cordless collated drywall gun and don't care for it much, usually just grab the corded drywall gun. Hoping to hear that the quikdrive works better for subfloors so i don't have to bend over so much and also thought a corded drill will be better. What do others use for subfloors, cement backer board? Thanks

I use a Duraspin DS300-S2. It works great on subfloor and since I'm tall, my back doesn't feel to bad after using it. You can shorten it and use it on drywall. I just have a feeling it will be a little too rough on the drywall.

Re: Quik Drive Screw Guns
Does duraspin make screw strips for cement board? Or can you use other brand screws with it? Thanks

Re: Quik Drive Screw Guns
I have the quickdrive screwgun and usually use it for decks but i have used it screwing down OSB/plywood flooring for sheds with no issues. It is certainly alot easier on the back and much faster than by hand. I prefer screwing the shed floors down for future removal if need be and they wont back out leaving a protruding head like a nail does.
