question about Honda generator

just bought a new Honda EB 6500 SX gen set today, was curious if anyone knew of any pros or cons regarding synthetic oil

i havnt put the oil in it yet,and im a big fan of Mobile One,i use it in both trucks,my 4-wheelers,and lawnmower, and if i could i would like to start the new genset off with it unless its ill advised

any input welcomed

its a awsome gen set, physical size wize its about the same as the EB 5000,i went with it because i did not want to buy another gen ever, lol,it has all the bells and whistles,OSHA job site approved, ground fault, electric start, ect

i was tired of hearing my saw motors laboring everytime i had to run a generator, the $800 sets just wernt doing the job so i went with the gusto and went with the full wallop

i might just email Honda and ask them about the synthetic oil,if its good to go with synthetic id rather it never see convention motor oil ever and would like to run synthetic right out of the box

during the winter months the power company gets swamped with downed lines from ice storms and snow,so they get behind on the "new service" jobs so just about every house i work in i need to run the generator

Whats your location..?

i do ok on a eb3500 runs my thomas compressor, 2 miter saw, table saw,

NOT all 3 THE SAMETIME,
but usually i got a crew of 3 and 2 guys cutting and 1 nailing OFF! i do regret not getting the eb 5000. the 6500 is way to big for me and to heavy unless your not taking it out of the truck when your running it.

the sales guy is a sales guy, they will tell you what they think you want to hear

the generator stays on the van,i point the exaust out the side doors of the van,i use bungies that hook on the front and rear fender wells to keep the doors open so no wind can shut them, thats also why the electric start appealed to me,if i had a nickel for everytime i smacked my elbow starting the gen set with a pull cord inside the van

NAH not me..i pull it out! plywood on top if its raining!

i would hate getting into a truck at the end of the day if a generator was running in it all day!
