pressure washer woes

I have a Excel Honda powered pressure washer that I have been using for 4 years now (light duty) home owner usage. I started it the other day and it ran for several minutes fine then it stated to bog down. It was if the choke was on but it wasn't belching fuel out the pipe. One of the hose fittings was not tightened as well as it should be and after I let off the trigger about 5 seconds later it stated to bog down. As it does this the loose fitting on the hose starts to spray water. It's as if it is trying to compress the water w/out the trigger being pulled. As soon as I hit the trigger the engine picks back up and sounds normal again.

Pump? Is it worth fixing. I only use it for home use now.
