Let's have it, list your Christmas gifts, at least the ones that really count ( tools, toys, etc)!

Flight lessons, a gift from myself. Black powder revolver-gift from wife. Will have to wait a few hours to unwrap the rest.

I bought myself a Ridgid 24v li-ion 1/2" hammer drill. Home Depot had it marked down to $179, couldn't pass up that deal.

Shooting black powder is cool, til you have to clean the thing after play time....but flight lessons? One of the reasons I don't fly anymore, and I am fully rated, is the cost. But you will have fun learning....stay safe, and happy landings!

I use to shoot a lot of black powder and really miss it, yeah the cleaning part does suck. Correct about the cost of flying. A 172 goes for around $110-$120 an hour with fuel. Most of the places that I want to fly to are 250-500 miles away, so I hope to split the cost up somehow.

Re: Post Your Christmas Goodies !

When I learned to fly fixed wing, a Cessna 150 was $28 an hour wet, instructors would go for $8 an hour.....and that was a lot of money in 1977....I did helicopters in '84...$100 an hour ( I did my rotorwing before I went in the army) .....and then the army paid me to do it......nothing is cheap anymore.
