portable thickness planers
was curious if anyone has,or has used a Dewalt portable thickness planer, either model and what are your thoughts on it
also if there is a comparable alternative in size and weight that is a better unit than the Dewalt

I am on Dewalt planer #2. Someone liked my first one a lot more than me.
#1 I bought about 10 yrs ago and never had a problem with it. Now I have the newer model DW735. 3 knives, 2 speeds and better dust collection, I've run a good amount of wood thru it with no problems.
I would buy it again

It weighs between 80-90lbs. Its got 2 nice handles on top. I take it to the job when I can't mill the stuff in my shop.

I thought it was a 7 1/4" blade, which are 25 bucks, I would be sad for that loss.
I am heart broken over the 12"er. I have three 12's, 3 10's and a stack of 7 1/4".
My buddy is a dealer for them.
I think the 12's I got were listed for 165.00 or so, cant remember what I paid.

Maybe. There is no better saw blade than a Matsush!ta, none.
I threw a Hilti blade in my circ the other day, it cant hang with the Mats!

that one corrupted too, maybe because their not a sponsor?
just google them
they are hands down the best blade known to man, their rip blades are unbelievable
use to use the 7 1/4 blades for framing, they could be missing 3 teeth and still cut smooth

yea,i keep one chop saw for cutting cabinet crown, thats the ONLY thing that saw comes off the truck for,and it was just insult to injury that it had a new Mats 80 on it
when my everyday trim saw gets worn out the cabinet saw takes its place and a brand new saw becaomes the new cabinet saw, that way i always have a pristine, tight, new saw with a perfect blade for cabinet crown and light rail
