Polyeurathane Glue

I seen a guy today build up a 3 peice air inlet manifold for his compressor for finishing and he used polyeurathane glue for all the threads except for the one that threads into the compressor. I thought that was different, any thoughts on this as for how tite the seal would be ass appose to usin teflon tape like normally..

Re: Polyeurathane Glue

I'd just use the teflon tape. Works fine, no leaks, and it comes apart again when you need it to. What happens when one of that guys fittings go bad. He has to replace the whole thing.

Edit: Good job spelling polyeurathane. I think. My spell check red flags it when I do it.

Why not?

It probably won't leak.

Re: Polyeurathane Glue

are you talking like gorilla glue? If so, I wouldn't think that it would be a very good type of gasket sealer. I've put that stuff on and it bubbles and foams. And it's not that strong. It's a pain in the rear to take it off carpeting though, and this is from experience. Metal I would think wouldn't take much to break that seal at all.

Re: Polyeurathane Glue

I would use teflon or pipe dope....I don't like polyurethane for any use.
