Re: PC Pancake Compressors

[QUOTE=Cole;237287]For me the decision factor when buying pancake compressors is the noise level.

Are Thomas compressors loud?

I own a Thomas Compressor, the twin 4gal stack. It's quiet compared to other models in it's class. Thomas seems to boast they are best, and after going through a ridgid and dewalt...I wanted the best. The thomas is very heavy I think, my guys dread carrying it. thomas also boasts that it can work of a normal house circuit no problem, I must say a few times it had a problem getting started, and I had to drain the tank to relieve the pressure so it would kick over and compress some more air. Otherwise I think its great and I have kept it running for hours on end running a mini-air hammer.

Re: PC Pancake Compressors

Pancake duty cycle is just not up to a couple guys roof sheathing. I ran my old emglo til the tank rusted and bought a cheapo twin tank from discount auto store. times and tasks change... used it for almost a year to do texture w a hopper... constant run type stuff. not bad for $79 All of a sudden it didn't come back on... went back to auto parts store and bought another.. new and improved! same price. It's worked well for over two yrs. Oh, the cheapo plastic switch button broke in the first one. My kid fixed it in abt 1/2 hr. Sometimes its embarrassing to pull up on a jobsite w chinese tools, but we get r dun! Not enough to buy a $400 twin, though. Still thinking abt pouring some epoxy into my emglo tank, though. r
