Paslode Nails

I have always used senco clipped head nails for my paslode cordless framers without issues. Latest project I bought a box of the new paslode full head nails for cordless framers (3.5" smooth acq) and let me tell you these nails abso-F%#KING-lutely SUCK! I pretty much wasted the last 2 days screwing around tearing down and reasembeling several times per day unjamming the ******* thing, the collating paper strips are falling apart as if they had been left out in the rain. It is almost as if the angle is off they wont feed right and get all jammed up with the plunging rod. Just got another box of senco's the other box is getting chucked...

Cdac, - - I gotta say, I've always used Paslode nails for my gun and never had a problem. Sounds like you did get a 'beat box'. Were they from Home Depot or something?? I avoid buying nails from them ever since I got a beat box of roofing coil-nails.

I love those nails. Nicer than most others I've used nad never had a problem.
I bet you did get a bad box.

Not that I buy a ton of them, but I don't even buy them at the big stores.

Re: Paslode Nails

only reason I even bought em there in the first place is I had a delivery on site early last week, and I didn't and I didn't start working on it till middle of this week and I didn't want em sitting around outside. truth is I have left nails around outside in the rain, snow ect and they are completely unaffected, I grab a stick of these piece O $H!T nails and they just fall apart in my hand.

Don't rule out the possibility that the Paslode nails you buy at the home center may not be the same quality as the Paslode nails you buy at your regular trade specific supply house. We've seen this over and over again with many tools and products.

That's exactly how I feel about the matter, - - and why I won't buy them there anymore.

Re: Paslode Nails

I use max nailers but have had the same problem. It is hard to beat senco nails. I pick up clips off the floor that are rusted and caked in wet saw dust, wipe them off with my hand and throw 'em in the gun. They always feed and rarely jam.
I learned that they are the only one made with non toxic glue on the paper collation.I learned it the HARD way after shooting a 3 1/2" framing nail in to the side of my right knee. The doctor researched it!
I got to go home after a nights stay, and surgery to remove it.He said if it would been another nail I would've been a guest for at least 2 or 3 more days on IV antibiotics.
It's all I'll allow on my job now, because I know it'll happen again.

Re: Paslode Nails

I have a paslode power framer that I got from a Lowes in Kansas, new not a second for 130.00 .

I also have a Hitachi that I have had for 5 years or so.

Question if I decided to use the paslode should I get senco nails for it or use paslode ,I buy from local lumber yards so the home depot is not a concern.

The guns just sitting in my tool chect for the last year , some day I may use it. The price was to good to pass up on it.I was going to get two ,but they sent one because they was sold out of that sale.

Ain't that somethin'? Learn something new everyday. I've always used Paslode nails in both my framing and finish guns, rarely have I had jams. I don't buy them from the big box stores.
