Paslode Framing Gun

Hello all,

New to the site here. I was wondering if someone can tell me why my paslode framing gun is not shooting nails. It has a full battery and a full fuel cell. I am using Paslode 3" clipped head nails, which came with the gun. I just bought it...used...drove about 15 nails and 1 or 2 nails didn't drive but rather just indented from the tip action. Now it won't fire at all. Did I get a lemon or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your response.
Erik-

Is the fuel cell full? Does it have the correct meter on it (red). Does the fan come on when you depress the safety. Have you ever had the gun cleaned. Lots of things to go wrong with this type of gun. When they work they are great, when they don't they suck.

Have you checked the expiration date on the fuel cell? I had this problem about a month ago.

The expirations will get you. I also got caught. I brought mine in to be serviced when it stopped working. When I told the guy as he was writing the service ticket that they had just serviced it about a week ago, I knew it was a freshly charged battery, and that I knew it had fuel because I had just changed the cell, he told me to walk back to the shop with him. When I relayed the same story to his service guy, he pulled the fuel cell out and showed me an expired date . Put a new cell in and popped off an entire rack of nails.Ever since then , I no longer allow myself to gather a "stock" of cells, but only buy them as I need them, and always check the dates.

If it has a good fuel cell (other responses) it most likely needs to be cleaned. These are great tools, but you have to keep them clean. They guy you bought it from most likely got rid of it because he blamed the tool for malfunctioning often, when he probably never maintained it. Lots of guys buy them and never read the instructions about cleaning, and as soon as it gets dirty, the blame it for being a trash tool.
