Orange Dewalt Tools?

Anyone else notice that the newest rigid tools and Dewalt tools are starting to look very similar? Anyone know if black and decker is manufacturing for rigid now? I have sworn off these brands because of their low quality assembly but i was just wondering if i am just turning into a tool conspiracy theorist.

Supposedly, Rigid is owned by the same Chinese company that bought Milwaukee now.

DeWalt is owned by Black & Decker (which also owns Delta and Porter Cable).

It's like the car companies:

Fiat owns:
-Alfa Romeo
-Ferrari
-Fiat
-Lancia
-Maserati

Volkswagen owns:
-Audi
-Bentley
-Bugatti
-Lamborghini
-SEAT
-Skoda
-Volkswagen

We own tools, companies own their color codes (Yellow=D, Orange=R, Black=B&D, etc.)..and Trademarks.

"The Ridgid Brand (for cordless and corded power tools) is OWNED by Emerson Electric, LICENSED to The Home Depot and MANUFACTURED by Techtronic Industries.

Techtronic Industries (TTI) OWNS the Ryobi, Milwaukee and AEG brands of corded and cordless power tools. Techtronic also contract manufactures corded and cordless tools for The Home Depot (Ridgid brand power tools) and Sears/K-Mart (Craftsman brand power tools). TTI is also in the process of closing the four US plants of Milwaukee and moving the production to China. (we'll discuss that later)

Wow...made in Germany initially? But now they want to go to China? Bigggggg mistake!

That would explain their jump in quality over the past few years. Now if they could just change the frickin' orange, I just might buy some of their tools!
