There are salvage yards that specialize in that sort of stuff. You might search online for a used one. I have a feeling that you might just find one. Consequently, is that valve sectional? Perhaps you need only one section and not the whole assembly?

Spend the money and have it fixed.

Now you know a little about how it feels to be an excavating contractor.

Ditch Witch is built 40 miles from me, and they do not manufacture any parts...they are all purchased out. The valve body is made by Prince, or some similar company, and by taking it to a hydrualic shop, you might get lucky and find it...I would not be surprised since the A420 is geting older, if surplus city (online) or a search on Google wouldn't turn up the valve. I never buy parts from Ditch Witch...I go to their sourses since they are not proprietory to their machines.

If you think they are high, consider this: A new digger chain (2 pitch) from them was $1900 without teeth...sprockets were another 2 bills apiece...etc, etc. Go to a trecher parts supply and pay exactly half for the chain and teeth, etc.
