New SCMS Purchase

currentli i own a 10 " hitachi mtr saw with laser.. The last few months i have had nothing but issues with the trigger and electric brake and my table going out of adjustment. have had the tool in for service work 2 times in the last week and nothing seems to work.. i have decided to drop down the cash on a new 10" toy.. I have been looking at the new makita los1013l with laser and the bosch 10" with up front controls...

which do you guys recommend for all use in interior finishing.. i need to adjust the bevel to 46 degrees and be able to move these saws up and down stairs qiute regularly.. ( apartments, condo's and so on.. ) gimme some advice, all i have used in the last 5 years is hitachi....

hell ya

i went amd purchased the bosch scms.. and loving it all,, upfront controls, more powerful motor, solid detents, larger bace, larger fence, micro adjustment and rotating handle, hitachi is def a step down in my opinion.. anyone who is looking at a scms dont look past the bosch...

and ya what is up with makita and that you can only bevel to 45... in the real world 46 is goood.... so u dont have to wedge material.... ie baseboard........

I hate baseboard wedgies.

A few months back I went through the which one to buy thing, I bashed my brains on it. I asked here, I read all the reviews I could find, etc. I chose the Makita 10" SCMS, no bells and whistles. After using it pretty hard for about 5 months now I do wonder if I would have been happier with the Bosch, the only other one I would consider. The Makita is tough and I have had to re-align the fence twice, The scale is not easy to micro-adjust or see when material is on the saw. I do get good accurate miters and bevels.

I've used both the Makita and the Bosch a lot, - - and although I do like the Makita a lot, - - you just can't beat the all-up-front controls of the Bosch.
