New offerings in cordless

I was walking through Blowes today (gimme a break, my tick broke on a Sunday) and I noticed a couple noteworthy events in the cordless tool world:

Bosch increased their super compact 10.8V lithium line to a 12V line-up(still compatible w/ old 10.8V batteries) and ramped up the offerings in the lineup, including a Fein MultiMaster-esque model. Review of the new Bosch Multi-X

Bosch came out with a 14.4V lithium drill

Porter Cable totaly revamped their 18V NiCad lineup

the bosch is still just the 10.8V they just now call it a 12V because they say that is the max output?? it has. Like its peak performance when all situations are right. Reminds me of the cheap old sub amps and how they were always rated.

Bosch just changed theirs to 12V because Milwaukee did it first. They are both 10.8V batteries with a 12V max. It is sad that they are allowed to advertise in a manner that is not honest.

Port Cables new 18v is on the level of Ryobi from what I have heard. I wait to see and hear results before passing too much judgement.

Bosch makes a solid line of tools. Hitachi also has a new 10.8V LI impact driver and drill. Stay away from the new Portercable line as it is made to replace the Black and Decker Firestorm line. These tools are made for the semi-pro.
