New Jobsite Table Saw

Hey fella's,

In the market for a new table saw. I have a Dewalt 10" on a Bosch gravity rise stand( that stand rules ).

Just interested if anyone has the Bosch 10" saw and how does it compare with the Dewalt and the Ridgid?

I like the Dewalt's rack and pinion fence- but mine has started to "slip a cog" now and then( more now than then ).

Thanks,
Roger

I love my Ridgid one with the rolling stand - can't say I looked at the Bosch one at all though

Dewalt, while it has a nice fence, thats about all I can say about them - I didn't like them at all

Use the rolling Ridgid, it's a decent saw.
We do alot of Azek trim with it, burned out a switch after about two years, but other than that no problems.

Re: New Jobsite Table Saw

I bought the Bosch before they came out with the gravity rise stand. It has been trouble free, but it is heavy. It also fits a dado blade with no problems

Re: New Jobsite Table Saw

I bought the bosch... 1 year and 3 days in, I bound it up ripping PT (should have been no problem). It started sounding like a bearing

After arguing with bosh, they decided to warranty it (3 days over). The local service center threw parts at it for a year (literally). New motor 'assembly', gears, bearings, Freud blade...just a little better. It still has a resonant vibration that comes and goes (gear lash?).

They finally told me they gave up, and bosh wont replace it

I've got a $500 saw that sounds worse than my 25 year old $89 craftsman!!

I do like the gravity rise stand... guess a Rigid or Makita might fit on it

I also have a Makita 8 1/4 that I bought in 1994, still in daily use. Love that saw. Great portability, awesome power for small size.No fancy features, just a saw.

Also have a cheapo craftsman for a garage saw that has about a 24" rip capacity. Junk saw but comes in handy in a pinch.

Looks real heavy.

I got no qualms with the bosch, love it and never had a problem.

I think all the high end portable saws would be up to most any task so whatever you pick will be fine.

Bosch's gravity stand is sweet.... Though I've had my saw forever so I was used to the ol' red stand. Buddy had an insurance claim which bought him a new saw so he gave me his gravity stand because that stand makes the whole setup real heavy and he works out of his truck. Easy to roll it up the ramp and into my trailer though!

Re: New Jobsite Table Saw

i have the bosch, love it, but no gravity rise stand just the old red one

had a craftsman that had a spider leg configure, the saw was nice and light and had a 24" rip capacity but the fence was garbage, no matter how much tweaking it wouldnt align properly

Re: New Jobsite Table Saw

i have the new makita (2704) with a rolling stand,it cuts 2x4s standing up great for decks or framing and ripping your own packing material, cuts 3 5/8" high. the only gripe is the glass to read the scale blows other than that very powerful saw hasnt bogged yet.

Re: New Jobsite Table Saw

That would be a SawStop. The longer you own a rail saw the more things you will figure out to use it on.
