New Gun!

just picked up the dewalt d51845 framer with removable mag-
very nice light easy to clear jams and easy depth set.

it was a huge strugle between the hitachi 83-a2 or this one
tool tech out here in cali had a once a year sale great deals.
so I picked it up for 50.00 cheaper dewalt actully matched the stores sale price.

the 83-a2 is for sure the best seller they said its like the mag 77
its basically a garentee, but the dewalt had alot of options I liked
and its suposed to be made to compete with the 83-a2 im not a pruduction guy mainly remodels but when I buy a new toy I expect it to be trouble free as much as posible

has anyone used this gun and if so how does it compare to the hitachi 83-a2 in your opinions. because im still hoping I bought the right gun I havent seen it being used yet..

Re: New Gun!

Had to google it to see what gun this is.

I don't care for angled guns, they seem to make you have to buy the manufacturers nails in order for it to work properly. The straight rails use just about anybodies so that's always made me more inclined to them.

I've always used Porter Cable nailers for just about everything, they're dirt cheap and never seem to wear out.

You'll have to let us know how this Dewalt gun works out for you.

The last gun I bought was a WWII era Browning .50 cal. machine gun.

Re: New Gun!

We bought a dewalt clipped head framer 2 weeks ago, It was slow and fell apart 6 hrs into the job, replaced it with another Hitachi, very satisfied now. Also bought a Bosch worm drive that is performing pretty well.
