it WAS (maybe still is?) used in the military for some time according the a mentor of mine they built everything using 19.2 and 4x4's haha i could ask my brother if he ever used them hes an architect but i dont feel like hearing a speal

you can find span tables for 19.2 spacing. I heard it was started durind WWII to save material but I could be wrong
