Re: Which Mitre Saw Do You Guys Prefer?

yes at a demo day at woodcraft that FESTOOL was having. It is seriously expensive, I would not dare do any framing or siding or soffet or decks or anystuff like that. If you are doing lots of flooring, mill work, built-ins, trimming, you know percision stuff, than there is seriously no other saw to use. It is very expensive, loaded up with everything it is like $1800.00, that is with the kapex mft (stand) extensions, clamps and so forth. The most impressive feature, there are alot (although some of them seem to be like improvements on my bosch saw, the things I always wanted a little different) is the dust collection. When hooked to a dust extractor it literaly gets 90% of all the dust. Which most get like 10% in their bags. That is really important to alot of people. I will keep the bosch for the dirty work.

They are just not for everyone. Of course not everyone should have a nice CSMS.

I have the Ridgid 12" sliding and older style msuv. I think this saw is great. Large table, easy to change bevel from one side to another, no knob to tighten for off detent angles. The thumb knob for mitre took some getting used to. The laser is junk though, never even installed it. (Used one before). Other than repetitive work who really uses one anyway? Another thing I like is the ease of moving and storage, although getting it past the gap of my tailgate is a bit of a biatch (dodge 2500 4x4). All-in-all a great saw.
