Re: Missing Bits From A Bosch Kit

I have always liked Bosch tools for pretty much everything except cordless stuff (too many other good choices to even bother checking them out in that dept.)

I hope they come through for you, or I would lose some of my high regard for them.

Hell, I'd send it now.

Okay, in the morning.
I guess it's about 1:30 AM
where you are.

It seems I have been passed up the food chain. Just waiting on Bosch to call me with a resolution. I'm not sure how long it's meant to take but it is dragging on a bit now. Anyone have an issue like this? How long did it take you to get through the issue??

Re: Missing Bits From A Bosch Kit

Afew years ago I bought a Porte-Cable saw
and the exhaust spout was missing.
I called Friday morning, and it was
at my door when I got home Monday night.
These guys you're dealing with just don't
have a clue about customer service.
Why is such a big company so penny-ante?

BTW, I don't know about metric colllets
but Porter-Cable has a nice trim router.
Glad I went that way instead of the
Bosch Pony.

Well it's a matter of principle now. If I send it back I lose £146 on freight, import taxes and bits that don't fit. If I keep it I lose £246. I don't think that's right. I keep chasing this until they do what I think is right.

Re: Missing Bits From A Bosch Kit

Right, just got off the phone and they are sending me a European standard Router that will take the 8mm bits I bought. They have not asked for the old one back and I am not expected to pay postage or anything. I could have been a b@stard and pressed them for more but I am satisfied as I will have what I originally ordered. Also, they have told me they are overhauling their packaging and manuals for this router after my case so no one will have to go through the issues I did. I am satisfied with the outcome and even though this has caused me significant delays and unnecessary bother with emails and phone calls back and forth I have ended up with what I had wanted at the start. They were apologetic and who knows, they may even include a T-shirt or some glass beads to keep the Indians happy. I will finish up the thread when it arrives in the mail. The end is in sight!!!

Yeah, I am glad it worked out. I just hope no-one else has to go through the bother in the meantime. So would you like the old one with or without the single malt and Christmas hamper?

Good for you!
Not very impressive that it took
them more than 3 weeks to
take care of their screw up.
Your problem, being their customer
I guess.

Re: Missing Bits From A Bosch Kit

Well the end of this saga has arrived. The new router arrived in the mail with both an 8mm and 6.5mm collet. No free shirt or flowers but I'll get over it. I am glad Bosch customer service came around and saw things from the customers POV. A win for the little guy
