Milwaukee V28

I have been looking at a milwaukee cordless combo kit. After borrowing a V28 sawzall, Im pretty hooked.

I have been looking at them, and I dont see a V28 Impact Driver...this is a vital part of a combo kit for me.

Do they make one and Im just stupid? Or do they not make a 28V impact?

If they dont, why wouldnt they, it seems like a pretty well used tool within all different fields of work.

They make an impact driver with the V18 line, but they only make an impact "wrench" with the V28. It has the 1/2" sqaure drive. I have the V28 kit and like it. But the drill is too big and heavy for use as a driver unless you're doing some heavy duty stuff. I use a compact Makita impact for that. You may want to consider the Milwaukee V18 instead. You give up a little power, but you'll have the impact driver.

I had a V28 set, and the recip saw with the 2 speed was the greatest. That said, the drill didn't have a good feel, the circular saw was awkward, and I replaced the batteries 3 times and the charger once, all under warranty. My son had the set with him and it was stolen..I went back to Dewalt.

i think you can get a v28 impact but it is 7/16 hex with the impact wrench motor thing in the back. i checked it out and the above said is true. you could get the one with the 1/2 inch square drive put a 1/4 inch socket on it and have a 3900 inch pound impact and a impact wrench in one tool.

ps. what are you planning to do with a v28 impact anyway? drive 36" screws? LOL

MORE POWER!!!!!!!!!

But really, I have used the other V28 tools and I am very impressed with them, but I need an impact driver, and I was hoping to be able to run all my cordless tools off the same style battery, because I see myself with 100 charged V28 batteries, and 100 DEAD V18 batteries when I NEED to use the impact.

I suppose I could look into a different option, Im really a milwaukee guy so I was trying to avoid going with a different company in order to have my tools all off one style battery

Do you think they will be coming out with a V28 driver in the future, or is it for some odd reason just not something they feel the need to make?

They are promising new V28 tools but nothing more this year and I'm not sure an impact driver would be one of them. They did just come out with a new Milwaukee M18 line of tools which is pretty impressive. More power than the V18 and lighter. The Hammer Drill/Impact combo - $349 and the 4 tool combo with hammer/circular/sawzall/light - $549. Most of the new M18 tools & combos also come with a mail-in rebate for a free extra battery good until the end of the year.
